Sebastian’s Action Trust exists to support families caring for a life-limited or life-threatened child across Hampshire, Berkshire and the surrounding communities, offering care, community and moments of joy when they’re needed most.
Founded in 2004 and inspired by the wish of a remarkable nine-year-old boy, everything we do is rooted in one simple belief: families facing the toughest challenges deserve time together, understanding and support that truly wraps around them.
We provide a range of services designed to help families navigate the challenges of life-limiting childhood conditions. From restorative breaks (aimed at families coming from all over England) to emotional support, therapy, community connections and practical help, everything we do is focused on creating space, comfort and joy for children, young people and their families.
The Bluebells, our “home-from-home” in the Hampshire village of North Waltham, is a place where families can press pause, breathe out and spend time together away from the pressures of everyday life. Created as the UK’s first purpose-built holiday home exclusively for families of young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, it offers comfort, calm and space to simply be a family. Every corner of The Bluebells has been thoughtfully created to bring ease, joy and connection. Families staying with us enjoy one of two spacious, fully accessible apartments, each comfortably sleeping up to eight people. The aim is simple: to offer a welcoming space where families can relax together, make memories and enjoy experiences that may not be possible elsewhere.
Life with a seriously ill child or young person can feel isolating. Our community events and family activities bring people together who truly understand, providing peer support, friendship and opportunities to make lasting memories. From sibling sessions and parent meet-ups to seasonal celebrations and activity days, there’s space to connect, laugh and feel supported.
